Two decades of primary-source work

EMC² Genealogy was founded in 2005 to serve a community underserved by mainstream genealogy: the Hispanic, Sephardic, and indigenous families of the Americas. Our work draws on primary-source archives in Mexico, Spain, and the United States, supported by two decades of on-the-ground research, published scholarship, and a proprietary database of more than 163,000 indexed persons spanning 1616 to 1960.

We are a boutique firm by choice. We take on projects where we can deliver exceptional, primary-source work — and we refer out when we cannot. Our clients range from families seeking their first four generations to institutions commissioning multi-century dynastic research. Every project is bespoke. Every engagement begins with a conversation.

Since 2019, we have guided more than 1,400 individuals through the Portuguese and Spanish Sephardic citizenship documentation process — assembling the genealogical proof that most applicants cannot produce on their own. This track record reflects the depth of our archival expertise and our commitment to results that change lives.

Our founder's published book, ¡Alteño Soy! Origen Genético de las Familias de Los Altos de Jalisco, represents two decades of combined genealogical and genetic research into one of the most genealogically documented populations in the Americas. It anchors our methodology and our library.

EMC² Genealogy is a venture of EMC² Labs, alongside sister initiatives in cultural preservation, heritage technology (Altos 3D), and the forthcoming Hispanic America Cultural Center of Texas. Our mission is larger than our clients — but every client engagement serves that mission directly.
